You know this is pretty cool. Thanks to the artist who made these PSD mock-ups. Makes me look good.
This tag looks expensive.
Two more pages for the blurb book.
Colter Coffee spread. E-commerce website. I took the photos and did the layout through Shopify. Very nice user interface. Clean simple site just like the customer wanted. Cha.
This spread is showing my e-commerce site Flathead River Rat. Which is also home to this blog. Thank you Captain Obvious! Still learning Id. Love the way anyone can publish their ideas if they take the time to create…
Wanted to start with recent picture of myself, with some brief copy. Not sure this works. Took picture back country skiing. Copy is weak. Also have to choose font for all the headings and copy. Just trying to get rough layout for book, then edit for the final
My Blurb book has begun!
After a couple tutorials and some trial and error (mostly error), I managed to produce my first two pages. Love the way pages are set up with plug-in from Blurb. My goal is to produce 20 pages for my book. Better get back to some more tutorials…
For my blurb book I have chosen 10″ x 8″, standard landscape with dust jacket hard cover. I will try to fill 20 pages of my best work-to-date. What a great way to showcase what I’ve been learning and creating in the past two years.
The attached thumbnails will certainly change as I progress in designing my book. I plan on using In Design for the layout, saving the pages as 300 ppi, high resolution jpeg’s. Some material is ready for print, other work-in-progress projects will have to be fine tuned.
I will begin posting progress reports on Monday March 12.
After blogging for 40 days, I have learned it is not so easy to talk about myself.
But what a great way to let people know what you are up to. Posting pictures and commentary about current events keeps the content fresh. Throwing in links to other websites will keep you connected to the web. Posting recent projects lets people know what you are doing, leading to word-of-mouth referrals. Your own personal online journal that might bring some new business while staying connected to the world.
Having a good blog could lead to more traffic to your website. Once there, your viewer might wander to other pages featuring goods or services for sale. Search engine algorithms love fresh content and activity. If your going to take the time to publish and maintain a website, might as well keep it fresh. To have your site listed high in organic search is good for business.
Another bonus of blogging is keeping in touch with friends and family.
